At the beginning of this February, we held Ceto’s first Concept Artwork Contest lasting about a whole week. It is quite thrilling that we have 14 participants and 24 artworks received in total, which in average, almost everyone submitted 2 works to the contest. We did see some talented artists that might have the potential to make some subversive NFT creations in future as well as their great passions for CetoSwap. After a week long review, three art pieces have eventually stood out from the contest and will be fragmented into F-NFTs. In alignment with our initial goal, Ceto is committed to create an FT (Fungible Token) and NFT (Non-Fungible Token) trading platform for Dfinity ecosystem, hence the winners for this time will be one of our first artists to list their F-NFTs on Ceto’s marketplace. Here, we’ve invited our winners to briefly introduce their own artworks and share their own visions about NFT creations.

‘Pixel Art’ is a very special digital art form.

@AnuradhaDishan

According to Dishan Anuradha, one of our Top 3 winners and creator of the pixel Medusa, pixel arts are absolutely fascinating and unique compared with other art as people will be able to see each individual pixel and one misplaced pixel can ruin the whole artwork or change its original meanings.

“My artwork is an 8-bit pixel art of a Greek God Medusa; Ceto is a Greek God as well so I thought Medusa would be a good topic to create a matching artwork for the contest. I used limited color palette to create this artwork which contains 8 color variants of green. I chose green color to add spookiness and grab attention. I used light tones and dark tones to create highlights and shadows. It’s built up with 40,000 blocks of pixels (200 x 200 px) but scaled up to 400% to see clearly.”

“When I think of Ceto, I think of a vast ocean that has unlimited access.”

@roketstudionft

Ceto, given the mysterious background, has in a way, offered much space of imaginations to the community. As depicted in our native Ceto image, she is more than capable of making waves in the IC ecosystem so as in the vast ocean. To eckostoners, the infinite blueness that Ceto dwells in conceives countless marine creatures representing inexhaustible ICPs scattered around.

He even comes up with a fancy idea about his future NFT creations involving 5 marine species as the leading characters. “It must be unique and simple. People love simplicity, not some shiny one out there.” he added. By giving different colors, accessories, looks, etc., our artist is attempted to create a series of NFT collections on Ceto with the concept briefly illustrated above.

Reincarnation of Ceto

@FlyinDutchman12

“This is my first artwork for Ceto community, though it is still not completed as a perfect image.” Said PumpkinSoda. Inspired by the like of Azuki Style (Opeasea) and Obanai Iguro (Snake Pillar — DemonSlayer), he created this picture all on his cellphone combining some of their styles and features. “She’s maybe the same as Ceto if being reincarnated” he pointed out.

It’s undoubtedly motivating that we’ve seen an increasing number of emerging NFT artists joining in our community, full of passion and enthusiasm. What’s also exciting is the success of the first Concept Artwork Contest which is another small victory for us at the current stage. However, this certainly will not be the last time we gather our community artists and wake up your creative minds. The visions of Ceto are not only to build a next generation trading system, but also a community where the creator economy thrives.
